Avaya is expanding your options by providing a broad range of new devices and device services. With more than 100 million endpoints and desktops sold to date, Avaya is introducing a series of new devices and services designed to enhance the Avaya Desktop Experience, which includes:

  • Essential Experience - Avaya is adding new designs for its industry-leading desktop phones with the J129, J139, J169 and J179, for a state-of-the-art user experience. These desktop devices are modern, connected, and personalized. Avaya’s Essential Experience Portfolio will enable transforming the professional desktop experience by enabling customers to modernize their desktops and add new capabilities such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Avaya J100 Wireless Module gives the ability to operate the J129 or J179 over a wireless LAN network, and to use Bluetooth Wireless headsets on the J179. It is an optional plug-in circuit board for the J129 and J179. It can be used to provide wireless LAN connectivity where traditional wired connectivity is not available. Examples would include scenarios such as such as transient/pop-up locations, trade-shows, and retail. All models of the J100-series work with Avaya Aura, Avaya IP Office, and select Open SIP platforms.

Avaya IX™ IP Phone J129 addresses the need in small, medium, and large enterprises for a cost effective device that delivers basic voice communication with excellent audio performance, productivity-enhancing features, better resiliency through network outages, and enhanced security capabilities when compared to similar phones in the market. It is a one line IP Phone that can support two concurrent calls. Easy to use, the phone has 3 context-sensitive soft keys and shows display prompts that enables the user to quickly access and confidently use features including transferring or forwarding calls, placing or retrieving calls on hold, initiating an ad-hoc conference call, viewing the recent call history, dialing a number from the Directory or Recent Call History, accessing voicemail, using park / unpark functionality and more.

J129 IP Phone

The first model in the J100 Series is the J129 IP Phone which has been shipping since December 2016. The J129 is the lowest-priced model in the family. It is designed for public or walk-up locations such as lobbies, hotels, meeting rooms, student dormitories and retail locations. It can also be used by anybody with basic communications needs. The J129 IP Phone works with Avaya Aura, Avaya IP Office as well as with Avaya Approved Third Party Platforms from Broadsoft and Zang Office.

The next model in the J100-series is the J139 IP Phone which has been shipping since July 2018. It is an upgrade from the J129 and is designed for business users that need only the most frequently-used features. J139 IP Phone works with Avaya Aura, Avaya IP Office as well as Avaya Approved Third Party Platforms from Broadsoft and Zang Office.

The J169 IP Phone is the workhorse model which addresses the need for everyday voice communications. It is designed for knowledge workers that need the full range of UC features to do their job. For example, knowledge workers that includes software engineers, physicians, pharmacists, architects, engineers, scientists, design thinkers, accountants, lawyers, academics and any other white-collar workers whose line of work requires them to “think for a living”. Shipping since March 2018, it works with Avaya Aura, Avaya IP Office as well as Avaya Approved Third Party Platforms from Broadsoft and Zang Office.

J100 Wireless Module

The Avaya J100 Wireless Module is an optional plug-in-circuit board for the J129 IP Phone and J179 IP Phone which provides the following capabilities. Note that WLAN functionality requires the use of J100 2.0 or later software. Bluetooth® functional requires the use of J100 4.0.0 or later software.

    • Provides WLAN connectivity on J129 and J179
      • Use wireless ethernet when wired ethernet is not available
        • The secondary PC port is NOT active if WLAN is used.

J100 Expansion Module 24

The J100 Expansion Module 24 (JEM24) can be attached to either the J169 IP Phone or the J179 IP Phone. When used with the J179 IP Phone, it operates in color. When used with the J169 IP Phone, it operates in grayscale. If a single JEM24 is attached, it provides 3 pages of 24 configurable buttons. If two or three JEM24 are attached, each offers a single page of 24 configurable buttons.
